I had a follow up appointment scheduled for 6 months out, but I cancelled it. I didn't need to go in. The naltrexone has helped me tremendously. I was drinking 6 pints of whiskey daily and now I have a beer occasionally. I have no cravings and alcohol does not appeal to me anymore. I've made changes to my life, including getting a divorce which has also improved my happiness in life. I am feeling extraordinarily better and want Dr. Moore to know that his help was much appreciated.
Hello Dr. Moore! Things are much better, the pill is working, after I have my first drink I take a while to drink it and I can stop whenever I want, which was not the case before. The only thing is that the first few days I couldn't sleep more than 3 hours and I was worried but the last couple of nights I achieved more hours. Still not enough but I am hopeful I will get there. I thank you very very much as this feels like a life saver at the moment. I hope it continues to work and that I really one day become independent of alcohol.
Dr. Moore: Just want to touch base and tell u I am feeling and doing great!! No cravings or desire to drink.
This program definitely works for me. I am so thrilled with it and I haven't felt this good in years. My drinking has returned back to normal levels. I am more clear-headed and can focus. The morning drinking has stopped. I am so grateful I found StopAtTwo and Dr. Moore.
I feel like it is working. I've been on naltrexone for about 4 months and I've used about 50 pills. Last night I had 4 beers and then cut it off and did fine. I couldn't have done this previously. It is working slower than I want but I'm pretty happy with it. With my second beer last night, I didn't even want to finish it because felt full.
I've been doing some individual therapy and group counseling with girlfriend and harm reduction group meetings with a private counselor. All of this has helped. The program seems surprisingly effective and for me it is a lot better than hanging out in church basements. My relationship with my girlfriend is better. She thinks it is working for me.
Hello, wanted to give you an update. I went 9 days before i craved a drink. When I realized I had a craving I took 25 mg. Again, it worked like a charm. I noticed last night when I decided to make a nice dinner I wanted a glass of wine while I cooked. took the other 25 mg. Waited about an hour and had 1 glass of wine. Then switched to tea. I could have never done that a month ago. 1 almost always lead to 6. So thankful. Every aspect of my life is better. I haven't felt this good in 3 years.
"Naltrexone definitely reduced the amount of alcohol I drank and kept me from drinking more. In the end I had to change medication to gabapentin which has been an absolute miracle for me. That and a great therapist have really kept me on track and it has been great."
